AIDS WALK
Kansas City 2022

It’s that time of year.  Time to rally for the 34th annual AIDS WALK Kansas City!  On behalf of our presenter, the AIDS Service Foundation of Greater KC, we invite you to join us as we WALK2STOP HIV Stigma and celebrate 34 years of life-saving steps!

With luck, we plan to hold AIDS WALK 2022 on Saturday, April 30th at Theis Park, located at Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd and Oak St., just south of the Nelson-Atkins Museum. Registration begins at 8:00 am. Stage entertainment and Welcoming Ceremonies commence at 9:00 am. And at 10 am, WE WALK!  Of course, we will carefully monitor the pandemic numbers and honor all local and CDC recommendations for gatherings.

On this site you will find everything you need to participate in AIDS WALK 2022: a pledge form, event poster, event details for the AIDS WALK Open, our fundraising mini-golf pub-crawl, AIDS WALK 2022 logo, Team Captain Guide, Route Map and tips on how to jumpstart your fundraising efforts (click on the Download Center to find your fundraising tools!).

You can register Solo or join a Team, craft your singular fundraising appeal, and harness the power of email and social media to spread your message of caring and support. This site also provides Team and Walker progress bars, a thorough FAQ and a tab for Virtual Walkers

Remember: Registration is always FREE! Register Today!

Want to go the extra mile?  Create a Team and invite friends, family, and co-workers to walk with You! In fact, AIDS WALK Teams raise 33% more than individual walkers. For more guidance or inspiration, join us virtually for our Team Captain Workshop on Tuesday, February 8th 5:30 to 7:30 pm (workshop details coming soon).

AIDS WALK 2022 marks the 34th Anniversary of our AIDS WALK Family’s commitment to raise funds and awareness for those affected by HIV/AIDS in our hometown. And what strides we’ve made!  Thanks to you, Kansas City continues to lead the nation in connecting people to treatment, keeping them in treatment, and keeping viral loads undetectable. Wow!

We hope to see you on WALK Day April 30th as we WALK2STOP HIV Stigma in support of these life-changing breakthroughs and reaffirm our goal of an HIV-Free Kansas City!

For questions or more information, email us at walk@aidswalkkansascity.org or give us at a call 816- 931-0959.

See you at the Park!

As an organization with a primary mission of raising funds to combat HIV/AIDS, we are closely monitoring the surge of Covid cases due to the Omicron variant. We do anticipate a reduction in cases in the coming weeks and will make a decision on this event (and other in-person gatherings) that best protects our community. As always, vaccinations, boosters and masks are strongly encouraged when engaging with our community.

Event Location:
AIDS WALK will be held in Theis Park, which is located southeast of the intersection of Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. and Oak Street (south of the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art). Parking is available in the Kauffman Gardens Parking Lot off of Rockhill Road, in the UMKC Cherry Street Parking Garage or street parking).

For more information, email walk@aidswalkkansascity.org or call (816) 931-0959.

Everybody loves to participate in AIDS WALK with friends, coworkers and family. It's easy to create your own team. . More information about how to create a winning team is in our download section here. You still get your individual prizes even if you’re a part of a team.

What are the white banners?

That’s part of the Memorial Team. They’re a group of families and friends who have lost someone to AIDS. Many of them have been walking with us since the first year of the walk, 33 years ago. The names they honor also appear on the memorial T-shirt you get when you raise $100. To learn more about the Memorial Team, click here.

I need to download forms, receipts and team information. Where are these?

Does AIDS WALK only raise money on April 30th?

Not any more. Because of federal and state budget cuts, more help is needed in Kansas City than ever. Fundraising for AIDS Walk is a year-round adventure. There’s always something going on!

Here’s a list of the yearly events of the AIDS WALK Fundraising Family:

Where does the money go?

All the money you raise stays in Kansas City, helping four major organizations. You can read more about these wonderful groups on the About AIDS Service Foundation Page.
