Jan & Peg's AIDS Walk Kansas City 2025 Fundraising Page in memory of JP Henson
Jan Henson
This year marks the 15th year of my brother JP’s passing. I began participating in the AIDS Walk 19 years ago and have raised a total of just over $58,422 for the AIDS Walk since I began in 2006. Please help me once again in continuing the support of those struggling with HIV/AIDS.
Your donation directly funds medical care, housing, youth programs, health education, substance use support, and essential social services. This year, our mission faces new challenges. Federal and state funding for HIV prevention, education, and comprehensive care is at risk, making support more crucial than ever. But together, we can ensure that everyone—regardless of income or circumstance—has access to the care they need to live healthy, fulfilling lives.
This year also marks the first year that my dear friend, Arlene Williams, will not be by my side. She and I have volunteered for the AIDS Walk Memorial Team together for many years. We both lost our brothers because of AIDS, which created a special bond – and a special place in our hearts for all the friends & families of those whose banners we carry at the beginning of each walk. Arlene was one of the most grounded & caring individuals I have known, always willing to help and never knew a stranger. Her smile could light up the room and her personality could bring joy to your soul. She was a light for everyone to see. RIP my friend.
