Please support me and AIDS WALK Kansas City 2023 with a donation and by sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will support HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and services in the Kansas City metro.
Together, we're able to provide medical help, education, housing and care to those battling HIV and AIDS. Through education, we will create an AIDS-free generation. For the 35th time, let's walk together to fight AIDS. The 35th annual AIDS WALK Kansas City will be held on Saturday, May 6th, at Theis Park.
Today in Kansas City, 5,700 men, women, and children in Kansas City affected by HIV/AIDS; over 100 of those are youth ages 13- 24. Kansas City surpasses national trends for its rate of suppressing viral loads – 74% locally v. 35% nationally.
For 34 years now, Kansas Citians have come together each spring to walk to raise awareness about HIV, celebrate the great strides made in treatment and care, offer support to those living with this disease, and remember the many family and friends we have lost.
ASFGKC raises money and awareness through AIDS WALK Kansas City and the World AIDS Day observances for organizations that provide shelter, medical care, and emergency services for those affected by HIV/AIDS in our community.
Contributions equally benefit three organizations; KC Care Health Center, SAVE Inc., and Hope Care Center. Additionally, funds are distributed to the ASF Community Fund. This Fund awards grants to not-for-profit organizations that serve the diverse communities’ specialized needs dealing with HIV/AIDS, provide support to their families and friends, and/or promote education and prevention.
All funds raised by AIDS WALK Kansas City and the World AIDS Day observances stay in Kansas City.
