On behalf of the AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City, we wish to thank everyone who participated in our city's observance of World AIDS Day 2007.
Due to the generosity of many caring individuals, foundations and companies, the November 30th reception raised over $80,000 for local HIV/AIDS service
organizations.
In keeping with the United Nations' appeal to "Stop AIDS: Keep the Promise," we asked Kansas Citians to take a lead and join us in our commitment to fight
HIV/AIDS in our community. Thankfully, our supporters stepped up and for the estimated 5,000 Kansas Citians living with HIV/AIDS helped strengthen the
following:
- Good Samaritan Project's ability to provide practical assistance, comfort and hope to those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
- SAVE, Inc's year-round effort to offer stable, attractive apartments to their clients living with HIV/AIDS.
- Kansas City Free Health Clinic's mission to offer primary medical care to the uninsured and HIV/AIDS education, prevention and testing.
- Hope Care Center's capacity to administer long-term nursing care to those challenged by HIV/AIDS.
We appreciate our city's ongoing support of the AIDS Service Foundation. Kansas City kept its promise and affirmed our commitment to remain steadfast in the hope
of a world without AIDS.
