Hello!
This will be my first year participating in the AIDS WALK Kansas City and I am so excited to be a part of this special event! I am walking with some awesome co-workers from Sheffield Place and our friends and families. Sheffield Place is incredibly grateful for the support of the AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City over the years!
Now, let me tell you a little bit about the foundation. The AIDS Service Foundation works to raise money and awareness through AIDS WALK Kansas City and the World AIDS Day observances for organizations that provide shelter, medical care and emergency services for the more than 5,700 men, women and children in Kansas City affected by HIV/AIDS. Contributions made to the AIDS Service Foundation benefit equally the KC Care Health Center, SAVE Inc, Thrive Health Connection and Hope Care Center.
In addition to supporting these organizations, the Foundation also contributes to its AIDS Service Foundation Community Fund which awards grants to not-for-profit organizations (that's where Sheffield Place comes in!) that serve the specialized needs of the diverse communities dealing with HIV/AIDS, provide support to their families, and/or promote education and prevention.
I hope you will consider making a contribution to Sheffield Place's team. Every dollar our team raises will advance AIDS WALK Kansas City's great cause. ALL funds raised at the AIDS Walk will stay in Kansas City!
